- We decided to have an indie record label, that was a UK branch of Sony Music Entertainment, as this was similar to other indie artists that we researched, such as Walk The Moon, Everything Everything and Bleachers.
- We thought that hypothetically, bands such as the ones listed above or in the notes would be signed to this label, or other UK indie artists.
- We also decided that an indie artist wouldn't sign directly to as a big a label as Sony Music Entertainment, as this would not fit with the indie image; the band would more likely sign to a branch of such a label that is less well known yet still substantial enough to effectively market and sell their music.
- We decided on the name Husky Records, as we firstly thought the name sounded professionaly yet unique, and also that Husky has a double meaning of both the breed of dog and the quality of a voice, which relates to the music industry.
